How we became who we are
Adam & Company is one of Scotland’s leading private banks and was founded in Edinburgh in 1983 by a group of influential Scottish business people who were committed to the core values of a traditional Scottish banking service, one where the client and personal service is at the core of everything. A tradition that is still very much upheld in Adam & Company today.
Edinburgh is often referred as the birthplace of Scottish Enlightenment, and one of the leading lights of that era, Adam Smith, published ‘An inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations’ in 1776 which revolutionised economic theory. Adam & Company was named after this leading figure of the time.
Today we have offices across mainland UK and the Channel Islands, serving our UK and international clients. We are part of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group.
